Hi, my name is Bianca Galvão, I'm a brazilian designer open to improve what is being created around the world.
I live in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro with my husband, step-daugther and our three cats. I breathe entertainment since my favorite activities are listening to good music, watching movies or series, and playing videogames or boardgames. But I also adore being outdoors, like lying on a beach, walking on a park or hiking a mountain.
The quality I'm mostly known for is ‘organized’, that's because I believe that if our spaces and relations have everything in place, then our heads will also achieve higher productivity and focus. Knowledge is also something I consider essential for empowerment, and therefore I seek it on a daily basis by reading books and browsing the internet. But the virtue that for me comes before anything is empathy, the ability to genuinely put ourselves on someone else's shoes is the gold mine the world needs.
From drawing as a kid to graduating as a Graphic Designer, I knew that what really made me happy was to bring to reality something beautiful that I've idealized to address a need, besides helping others to do the same. After starting my carrier teaching languages at PH privet school and working for the Mr. Cat fashion brand, I discovered the digital possibilities of UX Design and how amazing it was to understand human behaviors to mold interfaces creation. So I got post-graduated in Interface Design and took several specialization courses about development, metrics and product.
Working more than 12 years as a Product Designer for big brands in Brazil has gave me a lot of experience, specially on e-commerce and entertainment areas. I went through big retailers and Saas companies like B2W (currently Americanas) and VTEX, to huge online ticketing like Rock in Rio and Ingresso.com (while it was a Fandango company). During this period, the leader and manager inside of me also grew, and my latest corporate position was Head of Product Design at Gupy, the largest HR-Tech in latin america, where I've leaded more than 20 designers.
After writing some articles for Medium, and speaking in a few events, in 2021 I was invited by the privet university Ibmec to lecture their ‘Design, Interface and Usability’ subject for MBA students. I loved the experience and wish to bring the content to online teaching as soon as possible so more people are impacted by it. Getting a master's degree in also in my short-term plans.
In 2022 I've decided to start endeavoring, and today I'm in the process of creating my own brand and digital products. For that, I got certificates at IDEO U for Strategy and Business Innovation, and at MIT Professional Education for High-Impact Design Solutions. I've also just started the Broken Machines podcast to generate content in portuguese about Product, Design and Technology.
Don't hesitate to reach me out for a mentorship, a job opportunity, a project that needs design, a partnership, or even just for us to chat. See you around, wherever you are.
